Conductor is a powerful touch screen software suite that helps you deliver the best program possible. Difficult tasks can be automated and executed with total confidence while on air. During pre-production, Conductor can configure the switcher, build complex sequences and assign them to soft buttons. On air, Conductor becomes an extension of the control panel; a touch screen interface executes sequences, loads graphics into the frame buffer, routes auxiliary outputs, and controls 3rd party devices.
The graphics tab of the Conductor serves as a powerful 2 channel still store. A preview area shows a thumbnail view of all the images available for use and updates this view dynamically. An illuminated tally marker tells you if a frame buffer is currently on air with protection to prevent you from accidently loading graphics directly to air. Conductor also has 2 Ethernet ports so that one can be connected to your company’s network while the other is a dedicated connection to the switcher, allowing your graphics department to securely transfer images to Conductor without affecting live production.
Now building a sequence is simple! With Echolab’s Sequence Builder tool, you can prepare a sequence that can, with a single touch, launch a series of events, from simple M/E preset recalls to elaborate effects that fire GPO triggers and control 3rd party devices. Sequences can be created either directly within the Sequence Builder tool or by recording control panel activity that can then be edited or reordered to achieve desired event timing.
The intuitive aux tab of the Conductor lets you quickly route sources to auxiliary outputs. Descriptive labels provide innate access to input sources, allowing you to easily assign sources to auxiliary outputs in a natural fashion. Additionally, any of the auxiliary outputs can be locked to prevent accidental changes.
Traditionally during live production, operations are performed at the control panel, the video server, the clip store, the character generator, which can be taxing. Thankfully, Conductor localizes control of 3rd party devices to provide a single point of control for you to communicate with the video server, the clip store and the character generator. Conductor comes with all the protocols needed to setup the communication link between the device and the Conductor control panel.
Conductor comes preloaded with the Echolab configuration utilities that make setup easy. Using a graphical interface you can name sources, assign sources to crosspoint buttons, configure tallies and GPIO triggers. You can also choose the input and output format of the switchers I/O modules and dynamically assign custom names and bitmaps to the aux buttons on the panel and see these changes immediately.
